Kathy McHugh
Legal Triage Director, LA Law Center

Kathy McHugh brings extensive experience in business development, operations, and elder care to her role as Legal Triage Director at LA LAW Center. She is the first point of contact for new clients, helping them identify their needs and determine whether LA LAW Center provides the right legal solutions for their situation.
Kathy manages initial consultations, answers urgent questions, and oversees case deadlines so the legal team can focus fully on serving clients.
As a Medi-Cal Long-Term Care expert, Kathy guides families through the complexities of Medi-Cal eligibility and handles applications from start to finish — making long-term care planning far less stressful for seniors and their loved ones.
Before joining LA LAW Center, Kathy spent many years with Walt Disney World and Walt Disney Imagineering, gaining deep experience in guest services, operations, and project management. She later founded KMC Consulting, an international consulting firm serving theme parks, resorts, and museums. After 9/11, Kathy chose to support her husband’s law practice full-time, shifting her focus to helping families navigate important life decisions — a role she finds deeply fulfilling.
Kathy lives in Southern California with her husband, attorney Joe McHugh, their rescued dogs, a peacock named Big Bird, and his family. Her grown children affectionately call her “Snow White” because every morning, animals gather around her porch as she steps outside.
